Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition, released the following statement on Small Business Week:
“Across the country, small businesses play a leading role in our communities. Owners make enormous sacrifices to adapt to a rapidly-changing world and I want them to know that their efforts do not go unnoticed.
“From corner stores and family farms to local contractors and tech startups, entrepreneurs put in long hours and take real risks to help grow the Canadian economy and support their communities.
“Nearly half of all Canadians work for a small business, the majority of which have fewer than four employees. That’s why Conservatives will always fight for entrepreneurs by cutting taxes and reducing red tape so that hardworking Canadians can be rewarded with stronger pay.
“This Week and every week, I encourage all Canadians to visit a new small business in your community. And on behalf of all my colleagues, I want to wish everyone a happy Small Business Week!”
