Statement from Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre on Indigenous Veterans Day

Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition and the Conservative Party of Canada, released the following statement on Indigenous Veterans Day:

“For centuries, Indigenous Peoples have proudly defended our common home – risking life and limb together as Canadians from coast to coast to coast.

“Today, we honour the contributions of extraordinary Indigenous men and women who honourably served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

“We reflect on the legacy of true leaders like Brigadier Oliver Milton Martin: a dedicated educator who made history both in high command during the Second World War and as a provincial magistrate in peacetime.

“As we work together to build a stronger and safer Canada for all, I thank all incredible Indigenous veterans for protecting the country we all love and call home.”
