Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition and the Conservative Party of Canada, will travel to New York City to fight for tariff-free trade with the United States. Honouring the victims of 9/11 on the twenty-fifth anniversary, Poilievre will highlight the contributions made by Canadians and Americans together in the aftermath of the terrorist attack. “Canadians sacrificed and died helping the United States after 9/11. It is but one example of working together for the benefit of both countries.”
Poilievre’s trip will include a few meetings with representatives of investors and business. But his main audience is the American people, to whom he will appeal for free trade and cooperation in interviews on major business networks.
The mission is also to fight for free trade and against tariffs, so we can save Canadians money and jobs. “Canada’s biggest asset in the present trade dispute is the goodwill of Americans. We must save Canadians money and jobs, by leveraging the goodwill of the American people for freer trade. Both countries can be safer, richer and more affordable if we trade freely,” said Poilievre. “America’s real rivals and risks are overseas. Working with Canada to confront them is one of the best ways to protect the American people and their livelihoods.”
