Statement from Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre on Diwali

Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition and the Conservative Party of Canada, released the following statement on Diwali:

“Each year, Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and Buddhists come together for Diwali, one of the oldest and most beloved celebrations on earth.

“Here in Canada, Canadians of South Asian heritage have kept these ancient traditions alive, bringing much-needed hope and joy to communities across the country.

“Homes glow with diyas, colourful rangolis welcome visitors at doorsteps, fireworks light up the sky, and the scent of sweets fills the air.

“On behalf of the Conservative Party of Canada, may this festival of lights be filled with warmth, good food and surrounded by the ones you love to all those celebrating.

“Shubh Deepavali!”
