Maurice has a Master’s degree from the Canadian Theological Seminary (University of Regina affiliated) and a doctorate from Trinity International University in Chicago. He has served as a pastor, a college teacher, and a health care worker.
Maurice entered public life as a Member of the Saskatoon District Health Board. First elected to the House of Commons in 1997, Maurice has been re-elected ever since. He recently served as a Member of the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities, and currently serves on the joint House/Senate Scrutiny of Regulations Committee.
Long active in his community, Maurice has been involved with the Canadian Palliative Care, Saskatchewan Landlords, Saskatchewan Taxpayers Federation, the Chamber of Commerce, Toastmasters International, and supported Focus on the Family.
Maurice and his wife, Mary, have four children and are blessed with many grandchildren.
