Member of Parliament
Earl was born in Red Deer, Alberta. He and his wife, Judy, are fourth generation farmers who own and operate their family farm near Pine Lake, Alberta. They have two adult children.
He earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and taught mathematics for 34 years. He coached football, track and field, volleyball, fastball and minor hockey.
He has been very active in the community, serving as Chairman of the Board of Elnora Hospital, Chair of the Eltrohills Health Advisory Committee and volunteering for groups such as the Crossroads Agricultural Society, Pine Lake Hub Community Centre, Howell’s Lake Community Club and the Pine Lake Curling Club.
Earl was elected to the House of Commons in 2008, and sits on the Standing Committee on Public Accounts and the Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development.
