Michael was first elected to the National Council of the Conservative Party of Canada in November 2008. He is currently the Secretary on the council and is the Chair of the Secretariat Committee as well as being the Chair of the Membership Committee of the National Council.
Michael has been involved in politics for almost 35 years (since the age of 16). During that time, he has worked as a volunteer with numerous campaigns doing everything from being a runner to running the campaign.
Michael has held executive positions on a number of boards and has been a member of the board for the Electoral District Associations of Yukon, Prince George – Peace River, and Prince George – Bulkley Valley. He is currently the Financial Agent for the Yukon Conservative Association and was most recently the Campaign Manager for the Yukon campaign in 2011.
This very successful campaign saw Yukon electing a conservative MP for the first time since 1984 and being part of the Strong, Stable, Majority Conservative Government in Ottawa.
In his professional life, Michael is an IT professional with the Government of Yukon.
Michael was born in Calgary, raised in Prince George and has been a resident of the Yukon for more than 25 years.
Michael along with his wife Monica, have two very active and politically aware twin boys who are now eleven years old.
