Born and raised on a family farm in Perth County, Ontario, Mark graduated with a Joint Honours BA in History and Slavic Studies from the University of Waterloo. Married with 6 children, Mark works as an IT consultant near Kitchener-Waterloo.
Mark became a board member in his local EDA in 2004 and since that time has devoted himself to strengthening the party both locally and nationally.
He was elected to National Council in 2008 and has served as chair of the Caucus Liaison Committee, on the National Constitution, Secretariat and Communications Committees, and is the Ontario representative for the EDA Assistance Program.
Mark is a strong proponent of effective representation of the EDAs and grassroots members on National Council.
