STOP funding Trudeau’s media allies with taxpayers’ dollars

Whereas Trudeau’s state-funded media allies operate as a propaganda arm for his government.

Whereas taxpayers’ hard-earned dollars are used to pay big bonuses for CBC executives while they lay off lower-level staff.

Whereas the CBC paid $359,971.34 to unsuccessfully sue the Conservative Party in the middle of an election.

Whereas giving $730 million in media bailouts to favoured media outlets, in addition to the $1.3 billion to the CBC, undercuts private sector and independent media, and inhibits a free and independent press.

Whereas freedom of speech and freedom of the press are fundamental to a free and democratic society.

Therefore be it resolved that common sense Conservatives call on Justin Trudeau to stop giving taxpayers’ dollars to his friends in the media for favourable coverage.
