Permanently Stop MAID Expansion for Mental Illness

Whereas the Liberals opened the door to expanding MAID to Canadians suffering solely from mental illness;

Whereas clinicians cannot reliably determine whether mental illness is irremediable or distinguish MAID requests from suicidality;

Whereas the Liberals have repeatedly delayed this dangerous expansion instead of permanently stopping it;

Whereas vulnerable Canadians deserve treatment, care, protection and hope, not state-facilitated death.

Therefore, we the undersigned call on the Liberal government to support Conservative Bill C-218 and permanently stop the expansion of MAID for mental illness.
