No Canadian tax dollars for foreign-made cars

Whereas the Liberal government’s new “auto strategy” forces Canadian taxpayers to subsidize foreign-made electric vehicles instead of Canadian-made vehicles.

Whereas when the Liberals previously spent Canadians’ tax dollars to subsidize EVs, 99% of those were made abroad, doing precious little for Canadian auto workers.

Whereas Canadian auto-production has fallen by half since 2016, and 5,000 autoworkers have lost their job since Mark Carney became Prime Minister.

Therefore, we the undersigned support the Conservative plan to scrap the Liberal EV subsidy and instead remove the sales tax on Canadian-made vehicles so Canadians can afford the vehicles our workers produce here at home.
