Free Trade with India

Whereas, with a population of 1.4 billion people, India has a larger population than any country in the world;

Whereas Canada already does $13 billion per year in two-way trade with India, a number that is only expected to grow in the future;

Whereas Canada should pursue diversified trade and global engagement in order to give Canada more leverage in future trade negotiations with the United States and reduce our reliance on a single trade partner;

Whereas India signaled demand for Canada’s natural resources and energy which could be met by new pipelines and ports;

Therefore be it resolved that the undersigned call on the Liberal government to negotiate a full free trade agreement with India and unblock our resources by repealing anti-development laws and building pipelines and ports.
