Fair Access to Student Grants for All Canadian Students

Whereas, Budget 2025 proposes changes that would restrict access to Canada Student Grants for Canadians enrolled in vocational schools and other private postsecondary institutions;

Whereas, many essential professions are trained almost entirely through private career colleges – such as Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Aviation, and other specialized vocational fields – for which no comparable public programs exist;

Whereas, these proposed changes would penalize students arbitrarily and impact access to high-demand fields.

Whereas, Conservatives have proposed the opposite approach – more generous support for students seeking in-demand skills. Instead Liberals are discriminating against students who pursue studies outside a university setting.

Therefore, we, the undersigned, call on the Government of Canada to:

  • Reverse the proposed Budget 2025 changes which discriminate in access to Canada Student Grants;
  • Ensure that financial assistance is fair and aligns with the needs of the Canadian labour market.

  • Please enter a number from 1 to 100.
