Defend our Farmers
The Trudeau government has set a 30% fertilizer emissions reduction target for farmers across Canada by 2030.
The prices of inputs into agricultural production have been increasing, with the prices of fertilizer, fuel, and the cost of drying grain directly because of carbon taxes —leading to higher costs in the grocery aisles for families
Now, these arbitrary fertilizer reduction targets will continue to increase the price of food, limit farmers’ crop yields, and could accelerate the declining number of overall farms across Canada at a time when we are being relied on to help feed the world.
And it will cost our economy about $48 billion by 2030.
Conservatives will stand up against these Ottawa-knows-best policies devastating Canada’s agriculture sector.
