Condemn church burnings

Whereas:

  • Churches and places of worship are recognized as sacred spaces for many Canadians, and any attack on them is an attack on the values of diversity and religious freedom that we hold dear.

  • These heinous acts have been committed against 100 churches since 2020 and every act of arson is a direct attack on Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

  • These acts of arson not only inflict physical damage but also strike at the heart of our communities by spreading fear and division.

  • The silence of this Liberal government on the matter shows an utter lack of regard for Canadians’ freedom of religion.

    • Therefore, we call on the Liberal government to unequivocally condemn these actions and work towards uniting Canadians instead of causing division and chaos.
