Bring Home Doctors and Nurses

Whereas government gatekeepers are blocking doctors and nurses with foreign credentials from working in the trade in which they are trained to work.

Whereas only 41% of doctors with foreign credentials work as doctors and only 37% of nurses with foreign credentials work as nurses.

Whereas doctors and nurses who are trained in one province often cannot easily work in another because of conflicting standards.

Whereas over 6 million Canadians don’t have access to a family doctor, and out of the lucky few, 41% say they cannot get an appointment right away.

Therefore, we the undersigned support the establishment of a Blue Seal National Professional Testing Standard to remove the government gatekeepers, quickly license qualified professionals based on their tested abilities, and bring home more doctors and nurses.
