An Affordable Budget for an Affordable Canada
Whereas after ten years of Liberal government, Canadians are struggling with unaffordable costs of living, including rising food prices, housing costs, and shrinking paycheques;
Whereas the Liberal government’s reckless spending, higher taxes, and persistent deficits have driven inflation, doubled the national debt, and led to record numbers of food bank visits and declining investment;
Whereas despite promises to spend less, invest more, and grow the economy, the current government has doubled deficits, driven away $47.6 billion in net investment, overseen falling home construction, and delivered the slowest-growing economy in the G7;
Therefore, we the undersigned join Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives in demanding that the Liberal government:
- Scrap hidden taxes on food, including the carbon tax on farmers, the fuel standard tax, food packaging taxes, and the inflation tax.
- Cut taxes on work, homebuilding, investment, and energy to make life more affordable and boost wages.
- Stop the inflation tax by cutting wasteful spending on bureaucracy, consultants, corporate welfare, foreign aid and payouts to false refugee claimants.
