Don't Reopen Canada’s Embassy in Tehran

Whereas the Iranian regime sponsors terrorism, brutally represses its own people, and has threatened Canadians of Iranian heritage on Canadian soil;

Whereas the Iranian regime is responsible for the downing of Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752, killing 55 Canadians, including 7 residents of the North Shore;

Whereas reopening Canada’s embassy in Tehran would legitimize a regime that continues to support terrorism, violate human rights, and threaten Canadians.

Therefore, we the undersigned stand with Conservatives in calling on the Liberal government to reject any plan to reopen Canada’s embassy in Iran and to stand firmly with the victims of the Iranian regime, not those responsible for its crimes.
