Protect Private Property Rights

Whereas the Cowichan Tribes v Canada decision has created significant uncertainty around private property rights and fee simple land ownership in British Columbia;

Whereas homeowners across the province have been left without clear reassurance from the Liberal government about the security of their homes and land titles;

Whereas instead of acting decisively, the Liberal government failed to adequately defend private property rights in court and continues to pursue agreements that do not explicitly protect those rights;

Whereas by negotiating agreements without transparency or proper consultation, the Liberal government has deepened uncertainty and undermined public confidence.

Therefore, we the undersigned join with the Conservatives in calling on the Liberal government to immediately defend private property rights before the courts, ensure all agreements explicitly protect homeowners and restore certainty that Canadians’ homes and land titles remain secure and protected.
