Repeal the Tanker Ban

Whereas global instability and disruptions to key shipping routes have increased demand for reliable energy from Canada;

Whereas exporting Canadian oil and gas would strengthen the economy and protect Canadians from price shocks;

Whereas Liberal Bill C-48 restricts tanker traffic on the Pacific coast, limiting energy development and access to global markets;

Whereas repealing the Liberal ban would support pipelines, expand trade with Asia, reduce reliance on hostile regimes, and create opportunities, including for Indigenous enterprises;

Whereas tanker traffic already occurs on Canada’s East coast, highlighting an imbalance in national policy.

Therefore, we the undersigned call on the Liberal government to repeal their tanker ban and support the passage of Bill C-264.
