Stop the Costly Budget and Broken Promises
Whereas the Liberals’ federal budget increases the cost of living for every Canadian—raising prices on food, housing, and everyday essentials;
Whereas Prime Minister Mark Carney has broken promises he made just six months ago:
– The deficit has grown from a promised $62 billion to $78 billion;
– The debt-to-GDP ratio and inflation are both rising;
– Government spending is up $90 billion, or $5,400 more per household;
– Homebuilding taxes remain high despite promises to cut them;
– Investment is collapsing, not increasing;
Whereas this budget forces Canadians to pay more in debt interest than the federal government transfers for healthcare,;
Therefore be it resolved that we, the undersigned, oppose this costly deficit budget that worsens affordability and risks Canada’s economic future;
Therefore be it further resolved that we call on the Prime Minister to work with Parliament to deliver an affordable life for Canadians by:
– Ending hidden taxes;
– Cutting wasteful spending;
– Opening opportunities for investment; and
– Removing bureaucratic barriers to build affordable homes.
We call for a positive, hopeful, and affordable future for all Canadians.
