Trudeau Failing to Work with Provinces and Territories on Infrastructure
April 8, 2019
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OTTAWA, ON – Matt Jeneroux, Conservative Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Communities and Urban Affairs, released the following statement regarding the Parliamentary Budget Officer’s (PBO) report on the Liberal government’s infrastructure plan:
“Today’s PBO report once again confirms that Justin Trudeau’s infrastructure plan is failing Canadians and was not developed based on evidence. In fact, Justin Trudeau’s infrastructure plan fails to meet the Liberals’ own targets to grow the economy, create jobs, and respect taxpayers. Instead, their plan has delayed the much-needed construction of new roads, bridges and community spaces.
“Justin Trudeau will continue to blame the provinces and territories for not meeting his infrastructure commitments. In reality, it’s the Prime Minister’s failure to work with other levels of government that has led to these infrastructure delays. Canadians are paying for his mistakes.
“An Andrew Scheer government will put forward an infrastructure plan that not only grows the economy, but gets much needed projects built in communities across Canada.”
