“Today, Pakistani Canadians will join Pakistanis around the world to celebrate the 74th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence.

“During the pandemic, Pakistani Canadians have demonstrated their resilience and compassion by helping those in need and helping the most vulnerable. Thank you for the support and care you provided to your neighbours, friends and communities.

“Canada is proud to be home to a vibrant Pakistani community, which has contributed so much to our society and enhanced our nation’s social fabric. Conservatives are proud to have appointed the very first Senator of Pakistani origin, the Honourable Salma Ataullajhan.

“On behalf of Canada’s Conservatives, I extend my best wishes to all those celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day!”
