Vicki Aitaok became interested in politics during high school in the late 70’s in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. She was active federally on Don Mazankowski’s team and was part of the Montreal convention with Joe Clark. She stayed active federally under Brian Mulroney and was involved with advancing ministerial visits to Saskatchewan in the 80’s. Provincially, Vicki held executive roles with the PC Youth party and was very active under Saskatchewan’s Grant Devine, working at the Legislature for five years alongside young colleagues like Premier Brad Wall, and working on Humboldt and Regina campaigns. The Arctic called Vicki north in the late 80’s wherein she became involved with Nick Sibbeston’s Northwest Territories campaign. Moving further North to Nunavut in the 90’s, and still with no party politics at the territorial level, Vicki remained a supporter of federal candidates, most recently Leona Aglukkaq. Vicki is an adult educator teaching adult basic education, northern government and office administration programs in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut. An avid community volunteer, she has been involved with youth, hamlet council, district education authority, and the catholic church.
