Matthijs Van Gaalen
I was elected to the National Council of the Conservative Party of Canada in 2016 when I decided to run because our party and our country are in a time of transition and, at this critical juncture, only a strong Conservative Party can ensure Canada is ready to face the challenges that we face in a changing word.
On National Council, my priorities are to further advance our party’s IT solutions in respect of engagement and fundraising, expand our party’s youth outreach strategy and strengthen the National Council’s role within the party’s governance structure. I pursue these goals through my work on the IT, Youth, Constitution and Secretariat committees as well as during our quarterly National Council meetings.
In addition to my work with the Conservative Party, I am a husband to my beautiful wife (Sandra Cobena), a father to my son, and a corporate lawyer with Gowling WLG. While each of these roles keep me quite busy, I am happy to make time to visit EDAs and I encourage you to contact me with any requests or questions.
