Mike Lalonde was born in Montreal, Quebec and grew up in Ottawa. After graduating from high school, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces at the age of 17, determined to fight for people who couldn’t fight for themselves. His first years in the military were spent as a Reservist but he later joined the Regular Force, working as a commissioned officer and attaining the rank of Captain.
After spending 23 years in the army serving across Canada, Mike retired from military life but wanted to continue to serve. In August 2018 he became the candidate for the Conservative Party of Canada in Ottawa West-Nepean to represent his neighbours and to take a stand on issues that matter the most to his community and to all Canadians.
Mike graduated from the University of Waterloo with a BA and a Masters degree in History, and also worked as a financial planner.
