Canada imports $2.2 billion worth of oil from Saudi Arabia every year.
The Saudi oil all ends up at the Irving refinery in Saint John, New Brunswick.
This is the same refinery that would have been supplied by the Energy East pipeline – if it had been built.
But Trudeau killed Energy East with last-minute rule changes and a regulatory standard that doesn’t apply to the foreign oil that Canadians are being forced to use.
Energy East would have been a major step towards Canadian energy independence.
We need to start putting Canadian jobs and Canadian oil first!
