Canada imports $2.2 billion worth of oil from Saudi Arabia every year.
The Saudi oil all ends up at the Irving refinery in Saint John, New Brunswick.
This is the same refinery that would have been supplied by the Energy East pipeline – if it had been built.
But from day one, Trudeau has mishandled the critical decisions necessary to get our important resource projects underway.
He vetoed the Northern Gateway pipeline, and then killed Energy East with last-minute regulatory changes that favoured foreign imports over Canadian energy.
Now, Justin Trudeau spent $4.5 billion in taxpayer money to buy a pipeline he can’t even build.
Trudeau is letting down the hardworking men and women in our resource sector, whose jobs and livelihoods depend on the projects that he has failed to champion.
We need to start putting Canadian jobs and Canadian oil first!
