Needed: Competition and reliability in telecommunications
The Liberals failed to listen to the experts.
After a major outage in 2021 on the Rogers network, industry experts provided the Liberals with a full slate of recommendations to prevent it from happening again.
But the Trudeau Liberals did NOTHING.
On July 8th millions of Canadians were unable to contact emergency services, 12 million were left without internet or cellular access, and businesses were prevented from accepting debit card transactions.
We hope that this time around expert advice is not ignored.
To spur innovation, prevent further outages, and ensure Canadians have consistent access to emergency services, we must enhance competition in the telecommunications sector.
