The Leader of Canada’s Conservatives, the Honourable Andrew Scheer, will tour Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean on April 20-21 to meet stakeholders from the region. “I’m very happy to come back to the beautiful region of Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean, especially in Saguenay, where I will have the opportunity to discuss the issues that affect people here,” said the Conservative Leader. A visit of Rio Tinto Alcan is planned on Friday, in the La Baie area. On Saturday, Mr. Scheer will participate in a roundtable with business leaders. He will also meet a group of farmers to reiterate his support for supply management. “Whether it’s the steel and aluminum industry or supply managed sectors, Justin Trudeau fails to show leadership and creates uncertainty for the thousands of workers in Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean. Those two important elements of the region’s economy are priorities for our Party, and I will support the people affected by the inaction of Justin Trudeau’s Liberals,” concluded Mr. Scheer.
