Tom Dingwall was born and raised in Durham region. He and his wife Arlene have been married 21 years. They’re the proud parents of two boys, who they hope will make the same choice they did – to live and work in Durham region.
Tom started his career in policing when he was 18 years old and has worked in some of the most difficult areas of police work, including homicide, child abuse, and most recently Professional Standards, where he investigates allegations of police misconduct.
Tom is also a real-estate agent and is acutely aware of the challenges of affordability for first-time homebuyers. In 2018 Tom took his first step into politics when ran for Durham Regional Chair. Then and now, Tom was driven by a desire to address issues he’s witnessed in his career – including addressing mental health issues, under staffing of front-line services, and waste and mismanagement in government.
