The Honourable Ted Menzies
Macleod
I grew up on our family’s farm west of Claresholm and our beautiful community is still my home today. I was always interested in farming and am proud that my wife Sandra and I have run our own operation for 30 years, raising our children along the way. We’ve grown a wide range of grains, legumes and spices and have always been interested in adopting new technologies to improve our land and our efficiency. In addition to farming, I have a strong background in international trade. Since first being elected to the House of Commons in 2004, I’ve been able to provide leadership on issues to do with trade, trade disputes and international cooperation. Mcleod is a community that pulls together and I continue to admire the strong resolve of our citizens as they support each other times of crisis or, most recently, of flood. I’m also proud to be a member of the Lion’s Clubs International, which works hard to make our community a better place. In politics as in business, I’ve learned that the decisions made by those in authority have a direct impact on lives, for better or for worse. I am running as your Conservative candidate because I want to continue to make a positive difference for people of Macleod, Alberta and Canada by adding my voice and experience to the Conservative team in Ottawa. |
