Supporting our Men and Women in Uniform by Investing in Canadian Jobs
January 18, 2013
On Friday, Joe Preston, Member of Parliament for Elgin-Middlesex-London, Ed Holder, Member of Parliament for London West, and Susan Truppe, Parliamentary Secretary for Status of Women, announced a series of sub-contracts which will help create jobs for Canadians and support our men and women in uniform.
Valued at a total of $19.67 million, these subcontracts will help create skilled jobs for hardworking Canadians who will help build a new and improved fleet of Light Armoured Vehicles III for the Canadian Armed Forces.
These subcontracts are just a part of the Government’s commitment to deliver 550 of these upgraded Light Armoured Vehicles to our men and women in uniform. This contract will not only create jobs but provide our troops with the modern equipment they need and deserve in order to complete their missions safely and effectively.
By supporting our men and women in uniform and investing in Canadian jobs, our Government continues to focus on the priorities of Canadians.
