On his most recent trip to Winnipeg, Trudeau announced a whopping $35 million of tax payer dollars to support the development of the “Diversity Gardens.”
The gardens – which will “highlight a number of different plants from across the globe” are sure to be lovely – have already secured tens of millions of dollars in provincial, municipal and private donor support, though.
So when Trudeau was asked by local reporters whether or not the $35 million in extra federal cash could be put to better use for things Winnipeggers actually need, like better roads and improved infrastructure, Trudeau avoided answering.
With the Federal government investing so heavily in a project that even some city councillors have criticized “because only bureaucrats have seen its business plan,” there’s a good reason to question the Liberal spending plan.
It’s one thing to spend money – it’s another to spend it wisely.
