Conservatives consulting with Canadians
January 18, 2010

Over the course of the following weeks, our Conservative Government will be conducting consultations with Canadians on Phase Two of Canada’s Economic Action Plan.

Our Conservative members will be meeting with and hearing from Canadian families, homeowners, workers, business-owners and industries from across the country about how to meet our goals for Phase Two of Canada’s Economic Action Plan.

To date, close to 200 roundtables, townhall meetings, online consultations and other events are planned throughout the country, leading up to a new Throne Speech on March 3 and a Budget on March 4.

As we enter into Phase Two, our priority will be to continue the rapid implementation of Canada’s Economic Action Plan and the roll-out of remaining stimulus projects across the country. At the same time, we are looking ahead to restoring balanced budgets once our economy is fully recovered and making sure our economy comes out of the recession stronger than it entered into it.

While we are starting to see signs of economic strength, recovery is still fragile. That’s why Canada’s economy remains our Government’s priority.

Our Conservative Government is taking action for Canada’s economy now, while building a strong foundation for growth in the future.
