| Stéphane Dion is not a leader
January 29, 2007
“Do you think it is easy to make priorities?” OTTAWA – The Conservative Party today released three English-language television advertisements that demonstrate to Canadians that Stéphane Dion is a weak leader who would take Canada back. The ads, based on actual footage from the Liberal leadership campaign, feature startling admissions from Dion and two of his star caucus members, Deputy Leader Michael Ignatieff and former hockey star Ken Dryden. “We decided to let the Liberals speak for themselves,” said Conservative Member of Parliament Jason Kenney “I think Canadians will be surprised by what they hear from a man who wants to be Prime Minister.” Ignatieff and Dryden admit that the Liberals, when in government, did not succeed on the environmental file while Dion, a former Environment Minister, shocks the crowd by asking “do you think it is easy to make priorities?”. “Stéphane Dion wants to become Prime Minister as soon as possible,” said Kenney. “But his own words – and those of his colleagues – demonstrate that he is a weak leader who would take Canada back.” The ads, which begin airing immediately, will be shown on network television and specialty channels including a prized spot during the Canadian broadcast of the Superbowl. |
