
Born in Calgary, Pierre studied International Relations at the University of Calgary, where he was a high profile debater and Model United Nations participant.
Pierre later interned at Magna International, worked on Parliament Hill and owned and operated a communications and market research firm.
In 2004, Pierre defeated a Liberal Cabinet Minister and became Canada's youngest Member of Parliament. He was re-elected in 2006. After serving as Vice-Chair of the House Committee on Official Languages, Pierre was named Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the Treasury Board. Pierre contributed to the 1999 edition of "At Stake," a book about public policy and government reform.
Pierre was named one of Ottawa Life Magazine's Top 50 People of 2005. In 2006, he was voted the hardest-working MP in the Hill Times Annual Political Survey.
A resident of Barrhaven, Pierre is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Bells Corners.
