
Pierre obtained a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Military College and a Master of Science from the Cranfield Institute of Technology, in the UK. Pierre pursued a career with the Canadian Forces, serving his country for 20 years before he retired with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
A Professional Engineer since 1994, Pierre holds a Project Management certification from the Project Management Institute.
In 2006, Pierre was first elected to the House of Commons. In the Russell portion of his riding, he was the first Conservative MP elected in 123 years. Pierre also had the honour of being selected by the Prime Minister to give the first speech in the 39th Parliament. As a Parliamentarian, Pierre has distinguished himself as a strong voice for Franco-Ontarians, agricultural interests and defence issues. Pierre has also employed his skills in the service of the community through volunteer work.
He has been married for over 20 years and has five children.
