Removing Foreign Criminals, Protecting Canadians
February 06, 2013
On Wednesday, Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, called on NDP and Liberal MPs to support the Faster Removal of Foreign Criminals Act and stop voting against it as it reaches its Third Reading.
The Faster Removal of Foreign Criminals Act removes access to endless deportation appeals by these criminals, stopping their abuse of our generosity.
It also focuses on:
- Making it easier for the government to remove dangerous foreign criminals
- Making it harder for those who pose a serious threat to enter the country in the first place
- Removing barriers for genuine visitors to our country
Those who play by the rules and seek to make a positive contribution to our society will always be welcome, but abuse of our system will not be tolerated.
Our Conservative Government will always put the interests of victims and law-abiding Canadians above those of criminals. The Faster Removal of Foreign Criminals Act will help ensure the integrity of our immigration system while protecting Canadians and welcoming genuine visitors.
