Supporting Hardworking Canadian Families
September 17, 2012
On Monday, Peter Van Loan, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, and Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs, outlined the Harper Government’s priorities for the fall session.
Implementing the important measures of Economic Action Plan 2012 will be the cornerstone of our Government’s work in the House of Commons this fall. Despite our strength as a G7 leading economy, economic conditions in the United States and Europe are keeping the global economy fragile.
That’s why it’s more important than ever that our Government focuses on keeping taxes low, returning to balanced budgets and supporting high-quality jobs for hardworking Canadians.
Unfortunately, the NDP is focused on endangering the economy with their proposed job-killing carbon tax. The cornerstone of their economic platform includes a measure which will put a price on carbon and raise the price of gas, groceries and everything else.
Canadians know that Prime Minister Stephen Harper and our Conservative Government will support jobs and growth, not destroy it. Canadians can count on us to focus on their priorities, follow through on our commitments and get the job done.
