Kara Johnson (Ontario)

Kara Johnson was first elected to the National Council of the Conservative Party of Canada in March 2005. She is also a member of the National Candidate Selection Committee of the National Council.

Kara's prior political experience includes working as a volunteer in her home riding of Etobicoke Centre for various Progressive Conservative candidates, including the Hon. Michael Wilson and former MPP Nick Leluk.

More recently, Kara was a board member for the Canadian Alliance in the central Toronto riding of St. Paul's.

Professionally, Kara is a teacher and administrator at an independent school in Toronto. She has also worked as a volunteer coordinator of youth leadership training and summer camp for girls.

Kara is a graduate of Thomas More College of Liberal Arts and the University of Toronto (M.A., English), and was a student in Europe for several years. She is fluent in English, French, Spanish and conversant in Italian.
